Progression Steps for Youth Hockey Players

  1. Learn to Skate (LTS) – Ages 3+
Start your child’s hockey journey by mastering the basics. Skaters should complete at least Basic 1 before moving forward. We recommend continuing with Learn to Skate to develop lasting skills and confidence on the ice. Click here to learn more about LTS.

  2. NHL Learn to Play – Ages 5-9
Sponsored by the Vegas Golden Knights, Learn to Play provides fundamental training in hockey skating and game play. These sessions occur weekly on Sundays.

  3. Continue to Play
A bridge program for players not ready for full team games, Continue to Play is for skaters who want to build on existing skills before entering a more competitive environment. Note: This program is not running for Fall 2025. Players are encouraged to join practice-only City League.

  4. City League – Ages 8U-High School
This league offers a season that goes from September to March, offering weekly practices and weekend games.

  5. Travel Hockey
For advancing players, Travel Hockey teams are drawn from tryouts that occur in August. Our Travel Hockey teams compete in the NORCAL League with two practices a week, 20+ games per season, and travel tournaments.

  6. Summer Hockey
Occurring while school’s out of session, our Summer Hockey program hosts weekly games while encouraging to play other sports to stay well-rounded.
