Fall Learn to Skate Classes begin week of August 24th, 2025!
Fall Learn to Skate Classes begin week of August 24th, 2025!
All skaters must first create a free account on our website for each family member who will be skating at Reno Ice. After your account is set up, you can register for Learn to Skate classes and any other programs we offer. Please note that an active Learn to Skate USA membership is also required to enroll in classes. The membership fee is $20.
(Note: The membership year runs from July 1 to June 30, regardless of your registration date.)
Reno Ice is now using a prerequisite feature in our registration system. Skaters must pass the previous level before advancing to the next (for example, you must pass Basic 4 before registering for Basic 5). If you experience any issues signing up for classes, please contact Joanie or Kaia for assistance.
For more information about our Learn to Skate program, please contact Reno Ice’s Figure Skating Director, Joanie. If you have any account-related questions or trouble signing up, please contact Kaia.
Class Schedule & Extra Benefits
Our group skating classes are offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, as well as Saturday mornings.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we also offer daytime sessions in addition to our evening classes, perfect for fitting skating into your busy schedule.
Evening Class Bonus: If you’re registered for a Tuesday or Thursday evening class, you’ll have the opportunity to practice 30 minutes before or after your lesson in the designated practice area.
Example: If your lesson is at 5:00 PM, you can stay afterward to practice from 5:30 to 6:00 PM.
Free Public Skating Passes: Each Learn to Skate registration includes 10 free public skating passes (rentals are not included; skate rentals are $5).
Use them for 10 separate visits on your own, or bring up to 10 people at once. It’s perfect for a birthday party or group outing.
Passes expire one week after your Learn to Skate session ends, so be sure to use them up!
Progress Faster: If you’re in Basic 3 or higher, we recommend registering for at least two classes per week to help you reinforce skills and see faster improvement.
